„A LADY FROM LIMOGES“ 2003
She was born in Limoges. At an early age she travelled to America for reasons that by now evade elucidation and ended up in Providence, Rhode Island. She hardly seemed to age at all. A quizzical glance, again a slight pursing of the lips, left traces here and there. But time really had no power over her. In 1995 I met her in Providence and took her back with me to Europe, to Munich. Here she remained an unknown quantity until she accompanied me on a trip to Italy. In autumn 2003 she met Mr Vetro from Venice at Voltino di Tremosine. She returned with him to Munich and was finally able to leave domestic obscurity for the public eye. Both of them seemed to be enjoying themselves, for they planned to go to Cortina d'Ampezzo in February 2004 and in May of that year they were scheduled to go on to Padua. Where they will ultimately settle, however, has yet to be decided. Marianne Schliwinski, December 2003
